12/17/2009: I met a group of friends at Con Murphy's for happy hour yesterday and I was really mpressed. For being an Irish Pub, it doesn't really have that dim-lighting, reserved environment that I have come to expect....what I mean is that the decor is bright, artsy, modern, and cool. There are standard Irish pub staples like Guiness and other good beers on tap, Irish-American fare, etc but Con Murphys feels more 'New & modern Ireland' then 'old, been there-done that Ireland' - eg. Irish Pub, Fado, etc. There is a parking gararge next door which is great for those not looking to fight for a street spot. The staff was friendly and welcoming, there are lots of nice TVs to watch sports on, and the happy hour specials were definately worth going out for. Overall Con Murphys is an upscale, modern Irish Pub with good food, great beer, and friendly service. I will definately be going back again soon.
